TROUBLE-SHOOTING
TIPS
The following tips are trouble-shooting procedures for the most common
problems that may occur. If following the tips given here does not
solve the problem or if other unexpected difficulties occur, refer
to the Supra Card User’s Guide.
BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE…
If a function does not work, check the following: Verify that you are
using the correct code, then repeat the procedure. You may be entering
your PIN instead of the shackle code or entering an incorrect shackle
code.
Make sure that you hear a beep (and not a buzz) each time you press
a button.
Make sure that you inserted the SupraCard correctly and that the SupraCard
is well seated in the receptacle on the KeyBox. You may find it easier
to insert the Card into the KeyBox AFTER entering the code and BEFORE
pressing the blue or gray function button.
Verify that the SuperCard is properly updated by following the procedures
in the section of the Supra User’s Guide titled "Updating Your
Supra Card" on page 12.
Check the battery. If the SuperCard buzzes twice when CLEAR/START
is pressed, the battery needs to be replaced (3 AAA batteries). See
Supra User’s Guide on page 18.
THE REMAINING TROUBLE-SHOOTING TIPS ASSUME
THAT THE:
SupraCard is properly updated.
Correct PIN is being used.
SupraCard is correctly inserted in the KeyBox.
Battery has tested positively.
KEYBOX CONTAINER WILL NOT OPEN…
If the KeyBox does not open, you may have tried to access the KeyBox
before or after Timed Access Hours. Contact the KeyBox owner for excess
hours. If you own the KeyBox, you can reset it for 24-hour access.
For more information, see section headed TIMED ACCESS on page 15 of
Supra Guide.
KEYBOX SHACKLE WILL NOT RELEASE…
If the shackle does not release, make sure you have entered the correct
shackle code, then try again. Also, lift up on the KeyBox to relieve
pressure on the shackle.
KEY CONTAINER WILL NOT CLOSE…
Make sure that the listing keys are not blocking movement of the key
container. Also check that the key container is not bulging out in
the front due to being overfilled (overfilled Key Container will
jam shut).
If nothing apparent is blocking the key container from closing,
do not force it. Bring the KeyBox to the IVAR Team.
CODE FORGOTTEN/LOST…
If agent forgot or lost master record of codes, and requests information
from IVAR Team, you must first verify agent information in membership
records, or have the agent fax a REQUEST FOR PIN CODE/SHACKLE CODE
form.
BAD CODE PENALTY…
If agent enters ten incorrect codes within ten minutes, their Supra
Card will "time-out". If this occurs, have agent "rest" Key for ten
minutes, press CLEAR/START immediately followed by OBTAIN KEY. Check
to see that they are using the correct PIN or shackle code, and try
the procedure again.
AUDIBLE TONE INDICATIONS…
The SupraCard emits a buzz tone if you enter the wrong code or press
the incorrect sequence of buttons. If you hear this tone, check tht
you are using the correct code and are following the correct steps
for the procedure desired. (To hear the buzz one, press CLEAR/START
followed by OBTAIN KEY.) See Warning below.
These tones made by the SupraCard indicate successful operations
and also help you determine the cause of an unsuccessful operation.
1 Beep = Input accepted by card
2 Beeps = Operation Successfully input
4 Beeps = Operation was complete
1 Buzz = Input not accepted
2 Buzzes = Low Battery
3 Buzzes = Card program error
(Card replacement)
If agent makes a mistake or loses his/her place in any procedure,
press CLEAR/START and begin again.
