 Obtaining a Broker's License


For a Salesperson to obtain their Brokers License, the following criteria must be met before they can take their Brokers Exam:

  1. Must have Salesperson License for at least two years.

  2. Must complete the following statutorily required college-level courses:

     

    1. Real Estate Practice

    2. Legal Aspects of Real Estate

    3. Real Estate Finance

    4. Real Estate Appraisal

    5. Real Estate Economics or Accounting

    6. And three* courses from the following group:

       

      1. *Real Estate Principles

      2. *Business Law

      3. *Property Management

      4. *Real Estate Office Administration

      5. *Escrows

      6. *Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending

      7. *Advanced Legal Aspects of Real Estate

      8. *Advanced Real Estate Finance

      9. *Advanced Real Estate Appraisal

*If applicant completes both Accounting and Real Estate Economics, only two courses from group (f) are required.

Applicants who complete the above statutorily required college-level courses are eligible to take the salesperson examination without providing further evidence of education or experience.

NOTE: Requirements for renewing a Brokers License are the same as a Salespersons 45-Hour Renewal.
